In the New Testament we read, " 7 ¶And he called unto him the atwelve, and began to send them forth by btwo and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;.... 12 And they went out, and apreached that men should repent."  Mark 6:7 &12
And in Luke chapter 10 we read, "After these things the Lord aappointed other bseventy also, and sent them ctwo and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come."

We as Latter-Day Saints believe in teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ.  When boys are 18 and girls are 19, they have the opportunity to choose to go on a mission.  Boys are sent out for 2 years and girl go out for 18months.  They are sent to places all over the world.  There are over 80,000 missionaries currently serving right now in over 400 areas around the world.
Meet Sisters Holman and Thacker
Every member is encouraged to be a missionary even if they are not on a full-time mission.  I have the opportunity to feed the missionaries, go with them to teach people interested in the church and help them with anything else that they need. I love helping the missionaries.  These ladies, along with all the other missionaries, put 18 to 24 months of their lives on hold to serve the Lord. They typically start their day at 6:30am and are not done until 10:30pm.

Here are some quick facts about missionaries you might not have known
